Typically, your costs will be negligable compared to life on land, but can vary depending on your lifestyle. Accommodation is always free. Also, use of the crew mess and laundry are also free but discounted alcohol, soda cans, and bottled water are available at crew bar specifically for crew members. Other goods and services available to guests on ships can be offered to crew members at discount prices. Most liners offer free internet for WhatsApp, but full internet access may be available at a daily cost depending on the liner.
This can vary. Some contracts can be as short as a few weeks, but the average is around 4-6 months.
No, all flights are covered in your contract with the cruise lines. We recommend having some cash spare if there are any extra charges for instruments, but these are usually covered with your ticket and will be often reimbursed by the cruise liner if you keep the receipts.
